Third-year optometry students Alexis Prager Herstein and Andrew Verghese from the University of Houston College of Optometry were selected to participate in CooperVision’s student leadership programs for the 2024-25 academic year. These leadership opportunities allow students to deepen their knowledge of the optometry field, connect with peers, and engage with industry professionals. Herstein will join the Contact Lens Leadership Society, while Verghese will be part of the Myopia Leadership Society.
"I’m really excited about this opportunity," Herstein said. "Seeing the impact of contact lenses at UH has been incredible, and I’m eager to learn more about the industry and build meaningful connections."
Verghese is also looking forward to the experience. "My time at UH has been enriching, and this program is a great way to continue learning and expand my perspective on the field," he said. "I’m excited to connect with other students and professionals as I explore potential career paths."
