Clinical Residencies
Clinical Residencies
Residency programs are available at the University of Houston College of Optometry and at external sites. These programs are designed to provide optometrists with advanced clinical training and knowledge. While the program focus is on direct patient care, scholarly and didactic activities also contribute to the development of the advanced clinical competencies.
Residency programs are located in Houston, Dallas and Fort Worth, TX, Phoenix, AZ, Albuquerque, NM, and Denver, CO.
Eligibility
The residency programs are available to graduates of schools and colleges of optometry accredited by the Accreditation Council on Optometric Education (ACOE).
Application
To participate in the Optometry Residency Matching (ORMatch) program, applicants must complete the ORMatch application. Candidates for the M.S./Residency must also complete the UHCO Graduate Program application and forward all residency application materials. Forward un-official NBEO Transcripts (e.g., screenshot of score) directly to the program coordinator as soon as scores are available.
